About Hyacynth

A creature spawned in the early years of a decade not so far from our very own, Hyacynth hails from California's capital, but claims to be a SoCal native (born in Torrance) at times because there's really no pride in being from Sacramento.  Growing up as a wannabe punk rocker in a metal town was a little tough, but at least she came through it with an appreciation for Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and God (God of course being Ozzy Osbourne).  Introduction to Japanese pop culture came at an early age through the heavy influence of monster films and videogames.  It was only a matter of time before anime became part of the picture--and it did through Toonami and random rentals at the local Hollywood video, including an accidental rental of "Magical Twilight".  Now she reads reviews of every title she watches before renting them so as not to repeat *that* mistake. You can see her at California conventions cosplaying and taking up time at the dealer's room by hovering over the cels.  She feeds off burritos and orange soda.  Will do dirty deeds for Fanta, tomato flavored potato chips, rasberry & dark chocolate truffles, and orange milanos.  Listens to Bad Religion religiously and plans to migrate south someday.

As for Slayers, her favorites are:

Character: Lina
Season: Next
Movie: Great
Sub or Dub: Dub, actually. An' I seen 'em both.  There's just something about Lisa Ortiz' Lina that I really like. Actually there's very little of  Slayers I don't like, with the exception of a few of the later OVA's which were rather hackneyed. There's only so much you can do with Naga and Lina bickering.  After much deliberation, I've decided to like Try despite it's many many flaws.

Other favorite animes include: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, InuYasha, Excel Saga, Beserk (blood! death! and more BLOOD!), Lupin III, and Ah! Megami-sama!

Video Game obsessions: Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Brothers, Breath of Fire, Seiken Densetsu 3, Perfect Dark, and Street Fighter whatever.  I am Nintendo's bitch.
